I just had to replace a Roku 1 that was only a year old because it was unable to stream live TV, like Sling TV, and took a while to start working on Netflix and Hulu. I was upstairs in my bedroom using the wifi that is on the first floor.

I brought the Roku 2 up from the basement and tested it, and it was able to work perfectly....so I went out and bought another Roku 2 to replace the 1.

    I now have 2 Roku 2s, a Roku 3, a Fire TV, and an used Roku 1

I am assuming the 2 being able to utilize the 5G coming from the router is partly responsible....as the 1 can only do the 2.4 wifi connection
