VoIP telephone

    Is not telephone one of the cords we seek to cut? With a broadband connection a VoIP (Voice over IP, aka telephone over the internet) service would be the logical alternative. There are a number of devices for this, the best advertised being MajicJack.

    I recommend a forum for VoIP services. There is some interesting and useful things going on in that area.

    In this house we have both magic jack and basic talk.I have found that both have trouble with some calls, especially calls to systems where you may need to enter numbers over the phone. For routine calls they work well. If I could afford it, I would like to have a Bell system landline as well.
