I've been searching around but have had no luck.

There are 4 shortcut buttons on my Roku remote. One of them is for a radio app that no longer exists. Do any of you know if there is a way to reprogram that button to be a shortcut for another app? As it is now its a usless button on my brand new Roku 3.

I looked into this myself, and everything I read indicated you could cause many more problems by messing with it. I wanted to get rid of that one as well - but I did not want to mess everything else up.

Good to know. I think I'll contact Roku support and see if they are planning to change that button to something useful in the future. Maybe they can do some kind of swap out for a newer remote with updated programming.

Leo, this is what I received back from Roku tech support.

    Dear Robert,

Thank you for contacting Roku Customer Support.

We understand that you have roku 3 remote with the Rdio button.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

It is not possible to reprogram the Rdio button from our end till now.
If there is any hardware update on the device it will be updated on the roku website.
And we will help you to reprogram or update the remote.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard.

Please feel free to contact us for further queries.
For frequently asked questions, you may also visit our website: http://support.roku.com/.

Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to assist you and thank you for choosing Roku.

Its worded poorly but I interpret it to mean once they have an update to roll out that the fix for the Rdio button will be included. Read it over and tell me what you think
