Hi everyone. It is probably old news to all of you at this point but I wrote a review for my Roku 3... I have had it a year now and I am still crazily happy with it. I'd appreciate it if you could check it out and tell me if I missed anything or am wrong about anything.

That's a nice review. I have a Roku 2-SX and I see that the Roku 3 is available, currently, for only ten dollars more than the Roku 2. From the product descriptions, the Roku 3 is supposed to be five times faster, and it also has an Ethernet port and USB connection, and an SD card to expand internal storage, but I already have the SD card port with the Roku 2-SX.

Can anyone who has used both the Roku 2 and the Roku 3 tell me if the advantages are worth buying another device? Buying another Roku wouldn’t be a major imposition since we’re using a very old one upstairs, so I wouldn’t mind moving the one I have up there, and upgrading the one in my office.

Okay, I've just ordered the Roku 3. Currently, I have a Roku 2-SX, my wife has a Roku 2, and we have a very old Roku that we use upstairs, probably their first version of it, and the one upstairs is giving us trouble so I told my wife that I would sacrifice, for the greater good, and buy myself a Roku 3, so that she can have my Roku 2-SX, and we can move her Roku 2 upstairs. Maybe we'll still use the old one to stream radio in the bedroom at night, I don't know.

Good on you for sacrificing. :D You'll love the Roku 3, Netflix has a totally different interface than the Roku 2 -- It has lots of eye candy. I don't know if they've fixed yet but you couldn't start a show over on Netflix you'd have to rewind to the beginning which is silly hopefully that's fixed by now. I haven't watched Netflix on a Roku 2 in a while maybe the interface was backported too.

By far the best feature is the headphone jack on the remote. I jokingly call it porn mode but it's come in useful a few times late at night when I couldn't have the TV loud enough to hear it. I just popped in my ear buds and could hear everything crystal clear.

Other than that there isn't much to note. It's faster than the Roku 2. I do believe the Roku 4 is right around the corner from what I've read.

Nice review. I've been thinking about getting a roku for a while now, since everyone's raving about it, but if it IS true that the roku 4 is coming soon then I think I'm gonna hold out for that one

No doubt, this is why the Roku 3 is on sale. When the Roku 4 comes out, I might secretly buy myself one and tell my wife that I've been feeling guilty about buying the Roku 3 for myself, and that I had decided to let her have it.

I would probably buy a roku 4 even though I'm perfectly happy with my roku3 and the 4 probably will be just the 3 but faster or something... or offer 4k which I can't even use... I'm an addict... someone help!!
