Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy Google opened the SDK for developers a while back and made apps available for Windows phone users. I'm just really hoping developers start putting out some decent apps soon. I have to admit so far I'm pretty underwhelmed by the Chromecast feature set. I get it's just $30-$35, but with everything its main competitors the Roku and AppleTV can do, it just feels like an incomplete attempt to enter the market.

Thoughts?Am I being to hard on it by expecting too much?

I agree George. I'm in the same boat. I keep saying "it's only $30"... then i ask myself... what will I use it for.. my Roku seems to have much more and its easier to use

I might have spoken too soon. I stand by my initial assessment that it doesn't hold up to all the hype, right now. But it looks like things are on the horizon that may help it live up to at least some of its promise.

Android screen mirroring for Chromecast may be coming.

I don't think its marketed as a media streaming device. Its more like Apple's AIrPlay.
