ABC app brings back old shows to dip into the streaming game

    The fact that you have to have a cable subscription to get live TV or to view new episodes probably keeps it off those lists.

    As of today, there simply isn't much there to watch if you don't sign in with credentials. Maybe once they add all of the older shows in it will create more of a buzz.

    Actually, I believe the credentials are only required for the live streaming aspect. I played around with it a bit and was able to watch several shows (including current ones) - I just had to watch a few ads.

    My biggest point about the credentials was that because of the live tv requiring them, the app gets listed in a lot of places with a genric label as "needing cable subscription", which will keep a lot of cable cutter sites from even looking at it.

    The rest of their content didn't seem very impressive to me. Once they add in the older shows I will check it out again
